My apartment is located in the centre of Amsterdam and a mere 5 mins. walk to the Central Station, but far enough away for the noise of the train traffic to be out of earshot. Just around the corner are the canals. There are many local shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood as well as a supermarket for the daily groceries.

It’s a top floor apartment of about 55 sqr. metres with floor to ceiling windows with a view of the city from the back as well as the front. The apartment is modern, clean, comfy and quiet because of the double-glazed windows. There is a TV, a DVD player, an audio, wireless internet and comfortable furniture. A bedroom with a kingsize bed. A kitchen with a dishwasher. A bathroom with a shower and toilet. The apartment is central heated and there is a washingmachine. The back of the apartment faces the south with a small walk through for all the residents to enjoy the sun. The apartment is ideally suited for a couple or a single.

It is a 10-minute walk from my place to the gay district. For those who love to see more of the city there are of course numerous museums and parks all within easy reach from where I live.

We had the pleasure of staying for a second time in Robert’s apartment in Amsterdam. This time we opted for a non-simultaneous exchange, and everything was as smooth and nice as the first time. Once more, Robert was very easy-going in arranging things, and we had a lovely chat at the beginning and at the end of our visit.

We love Amsterdam and we are big fans of Robert’s flat. It is ideal for anyone looking to stay in a super central location, in a beautiful and trendy neighbourhood.

Many thanks again, Robert, for this exchange – and we are definitely keeping in touch for the future!

Martin and I stayed for a week and enjoyed our visit very much. The apartment is in a fantastic location in the heart of historic Amsterdam on a pleasant street. Everything you could want for a visit to Amsterdam including the gay scene is 5 - 10 minutes walk away. We met Robert on our last day. He is the perfect host friendly and helpful. He provided loads of helpful inforimation and helped us book a performance at the Concert Hall. We wouldn’t change anything. We had a few conversations on Skype so I think we knew our expectations were mutually compatible. Transport links are great with the main Amsterdam Train Station only a 5 minute walk away so if you wanted you could easily travel to other towns and cities. Robert also stayed at our house in Tenerife and was the perfect house guest.

We had a wonderful stay at Amsterdam thanks to Robert’s lovely flat. His place is cosy, quiet, well-kept, and excellently located: less than five minutes from the Central Station, it was an ideal starting point for visiting most of the city on foot (in five days we only used public transport a couple of times). It is also located in a beautiful neighbourhood, on the picturesque and lively Haarlemmerstraat, with many lovely cafes, restaurants and other shops. In the flat itself, we also loved the large glass windows in the sitting room: it was great to get a lot of light during a sunny day (even though it was early December!), or simply to take it easy looking at the view and at the people in the street below going about their business.

Robert was charming, easy-going and very easy to communicate with. We arranged the swap hassle-free over a couple of Skype calls and Whatsapp messages. He left our place in impeccable condition – along with a thank-you wine bottle which was waiting for us when we got home . We also enjoyed very much meeting him in person and having a friendly chat before we had to catch our train for Paris. We agreed to swap again in the near future and we are certainly looking forward to going back to Amsterdam!
