The house is a light and airy 1950’s extended bungalow with a large, quiet cottage style garden, with various places to sit and relax. It has a large kitchen/ dining room opening onto the garden, a good sized lounge with a wood-burning stove and a sunroom off, one double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a second bedroom/TV room/office area with a comfortable double sofa bed. There is also a main bathroom with a shower over a large bath. The house has parquet floors and has a colourful and warm interior, with lots of pictures and old bits and pieces ! There is a TV with Netflix, and wifi.

Hassocks is a great place to live. There are country walks from the house with a station just five minutes away which takes you to London (one hour) and Brighton (ten minutes) by frequent trains. London Gatwick airport is twenty minutes by train from the house so it’s really easy to get to. Brighton is a colourful and vibrant and very gay small city with great attractions and restaurants. (see www.visitbrighton.com). Other great local towns to see include Lewes and Arundel. There are gorgeous walks in the area (in the South Downs national park) and lots of National Trust properties and parks to explore.

In the village itself there are cafes, restaurants and two supermarkets (one open to 11 pm, which is two minutes from the house), so you don’t have to travel to get things you need.

Steve and Pierre's house was amazing! Everything was perfect. Such a cozy place and stocked with all you could possible need. We loved sitting on the sun porch and having our tea while looking out into the garden. So peaceful.

Steve is one of the most thoughtful, and gracious hosts we have had in our travels. We feel like we have become fast friends and are so looking forward to them coming to our place.

He provided us with all the information we needed and not only showed us around the house but took us on a tour around the village.

The bed is comfortable, bathrooms are excellent, and the location was perfect for getting to the trains, grocery store, and restaurants.

Steve had excellent restaurant recommendations and was of great help when it came to us trying to find our way around. He went way beyond to make our visit comfortable and memorable.

We loved our stay in Hassocks and certainly want to return.
