We had a great time at Stuart & Richard's flat. We spent there 9 days in summer 2017.
Their place is nice and comfortable, and very conveniently located to walk around (around 15minutes to the city center). There is a big Lidl supermarket just nearby.
They provided us lots of useful information to get around.
When we arrived home, we found our place in perfect conditions.
We definitely recommend their place if you plan to arrange a swap in Glasgow!

We met Stuart and Richard when they came to stay in April in the flat we own, just around the corner from our home in Sydney and we liked them immediately. So when we decided we’d make Glasgow a stopover on our way to Berlin in August we got excited just at the idea of seeing Stuart and Richard again. The excitement was justified; it was just lovely to have their company once more.. And they couldn’t have been better hosts. Rolf arrived in Glasgow suffering from London food poisoning. They helped care for him attentively and kept me amused over the three days it took for him to recover. We couldn’t have been in better hands. Over the next four days we were there they showed us their Glasgow, great places we wouldn’t have seen had they not led us there. Great places to eat in, like their favourite fish cafe, and to drink in, like Rogano’s where we had cocktails.

Their flat is on the first floor of an old long sandstone terrace with views across Glasgow to the hills beyond. Inside, the apartment is furnished with style and character. ( I want those kitchen cupboards!) It’s welcoming and comfortable. We felt at ease there. Our room, the bed, everything was, well, ... cosy. And everything works! Good to return to after a day out sight-seeing..

The location was great for us; a twenty minute walk into town if we didn’t feel like taking the bus, an easy walk to the Cathedral and the Necropolis. It’s a working-class part of town which felt down-to-earth and somehow Glaswegian, with a couple of good coffee shops, a delicatessen, and a supermarket just at the end of the street.

Glasgow itself was a treat. We were there for the architecture, and it didn’t disappoint. We covered as much Charles Rennie Mackintosh as we could, doing the School of Arts tour, and having tea in the Salon de Luxe of the Willow Tea Rooms. But it’s a marvellous Victorian city and just wandering the streets is worth it. We saw the new Zahir Hadid-designed Transport Museum but also crazy things like the marvellous Templeton Carpet Factory just a short walk from Stuart and Richard’s.

If we could go back to Glasgow tomorrow we would, just,so we could get to know the city a little better. Of the eight weeks we were in Europe, it was definitely a highlight.

A final thing...Stuart and Richard were great guests in our studio. They left it clean and tidy. They’re welcome back any time.

Stuart and Richard's flat in Glasgow was cosy and comfortable, not too far from the city center, in a very quiet street. Glasgow is a great base to explore beautiful Scotland. We have been in touch during our swap and one day when we suddenly had a problem with hot water, they solved it immediately by sending someone to fix it right away !! Stuart and Richard are great swappers and we definitely recommend a swap with them if you consider a swap in Glasgow.

I have so enjoyed getting to know Stuart and Richard. Their apartment was lovely, and so convenient to walk everywhere, or tale a bus or train! They gave me a list of the best restaurants and made our exchange so easy. It was a pleasure meeting both of them and forming a good friendship! They were great, at taking care of my apt., and passing the keys off to my friends arriving from Australia! I look forward to exchanging with them again!

Stuart & Richard stayed at our apartment in Wapping, London at the weekend and were fantastic HATW guests. We exchanged several emails and welcomed them when they arrived, giving them a quick orientation of the apartment & local area. We'd highly recommend them as HATW guests & look forward to visiting Glasgow soon.

We've just had a great few days in Glasgow staying at Rich & Stu's relaxing & well equipped apartment. We met up with Rich & Stu at Drygate Brewery, a short walk from their apartment, after a lovely few days on Argyll's Secret Coast before returning to Glasgow. It was a great opportunity to spend an evening with them and to get some local recommendations of what to do, where to eat & drink etc whilst visiting the city.

Thanks for being great hosts, a really enjoyable time and the exceptionally sunny weather. We look forward to exchanging again with you both in the future,
Bert & Darren
