Welcome to Hamburg, Germany`s second largest city and at the same time greenest!

We live in „Eimsbuettel“, a lively residential quarter in the center of Hamburg, in a flat of 75 square meters. Built in 1894 and entirely renovates during the last years, the block of flats presents itself as a typical „Hamburger Altbau“, an old building with high ceilings, wooden floor, stucco and a bright facade.
Our flat has got a bright living-room, a bedroom, our son’s room, kitchen, bathroom and WC. In front of the house is a small garden which we use exclusive. It is located in a silent green side road. If needed you can find a parking space on the street in front of the house.

„Eimsbuettel“ is an old-established and a nowadays young quarter with a friendly and restful atmosphere. Many green spaces and parks, characteristic old buildings and weekly markets make up its special charm.
Just around the corner you can buy anything you need for everydays life. It takes only three minutes on foot to reach the underground or a bus, which takes you to all interesting places all over Hamburg, it’s also fun to discover the city by bike. There is a bike rental station only 100 mtrs from here.

Hamburg boasts a huge number of pubs and bars. Gay friendly places can be found all over the city. The queer scene is mostly going out in „St Pauli“, nearby the world-renowned „Reeperbahn“ and in the oldest queer city area „St. Georg“.
Besides bars and clubbing you can find varies queer events, parties or cultural amusements. It is fun to go shopping and afterwords having a drink in one of the several cafes around the „Lange Reihe“, which is the best known queer street in Hamburg, located in „St. Georg“.

Hamburg has got a lot to offer in every sense. You can find fashionable design, a rich and lively cultural scene with theatres, museums and art galleries, historic shopping centres and most different quarters with a special flair. It is interesting to explore the second largest European harbour with the “Speicherstadt“, heritage-protected storehouses, the river Elbe and its beach or the new “Hafencity”.

If you would like to discover more than the city of Hamburg, it only takes 90 minutes to go to Berlin by train, to the North Sea, the Baltic Sea or to Denmark.

To reach Hamburg by plane (besides the “airport Hamburg”) you can also use airport “Bremen” and “Luebeck” – it takes around 1 hour to got by airport-bus.

We just came back from 5 days in Hamburg in Daniela and Nina's lovely flat. They had approached us in November for a direct swap. Emails to and fro were friendly and quick without any delays. We could make clear travel plans and the swap went perfectly. The flat in Hamburg is very conveniently located with excellent bus and metro links. À beautiful 100 year old swimming pool Kaifu Bad, with an excellent sauna complex, is also closeby. The flat is very comfortable, quiet and beautifully decorated. Dani and Nina took care of our own flat very well, and we found our home in perfect order upon returning. Thank you!

We had a very nice experience in Hamburg, and staying in Nina & Dani's apartment was a good part of that.

Nina & Dani live in a young and restful neighborhood, with easy access to the city center. Their apartment is lovely, comfortable and very quiet, decorated with many personal touches.

Hamburg is a nice and interesting city to explore, especially with the Stadtrad bike rental system. We very much enjoyed to explore the quarters by the Elbe river and we do recommend to have a drink at "Strandperle" on the beach in front of the bustling harbour.

The comunication with Dani & Nina before, during and after the swap was really easy and uncomplicated. We did not meet each other but we had the feeling to be good friends ! See you soon !

We stayed in the beautiful, well equipped apartment of Nina and Daniela. It is in a very nice, central area of Hamburg. The contact with her was very friendly and we were very, very happy to stay at there home. We highly recommend her house and Hamburg. It will be a pleasure to welcome Nina and Daniela's family in one of our homes. Thank you again a 1'000 times.

For two times we had a very pleasant and easy experience. Daniela and Nina are very easy and friendly and the house is beautiful and has a very good feeling. The 19th-century neighborhood is very green. A lot of nice cafes and restaurants and shops in the heighbourhoud. I love Hamburg and the place of Nina und Daniela! Olaf and Patrick from Amsterdam
