The house is fully alarmed and has armed response security for your reassurance(although in 6 years this has never been needed as it's a very safe area).
Free parking is on street outside the house.
The house has been featured in style magazines, tv adverts and photo shoots. It's furnished with an eclectic combination of antique, "shabby chic" and contemporary pieces.
As well as swaps, it is also available for holiday rentals - rates on application.
De Waterkant is the "gay village" in Cape Town. A quaint, cobbled district with a mix of historic and contemporary designer homes and shops. A wide selection of restaurants, bars and cafes are literally within minutes walk of the house.
It's a very tasteful and charming area and certainly isn't overtly gay, but there is something for everyone!
The house is a 15 minute walk (5 min drive) to the V & A Waterfront shops and restaurants and the city centre is 10 minutes walk. Cape Town has some superb restauants, many within walking distance.
The area is perfectly safe, with foot and vehicle security in place (not that it's ever been needed!)
The beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton are a 10-15 minute drive and the winelands of Stellenbosch and Franschoek are about an hours drive away and they have some of the best restaurants in the whole of South Africa.
We are a gay couple 29/46 British/South African(just had 10th anniversary)who enjoys travelling whenever we have the opportunity. We are quite flexible with dates and destinations. We are very house proud and will treat any home with respect and care as if it were our own. Although we may enjoy the odd night out we are not party animals and prefer a good meal to a club every time!
