Our 2,600 square feet home is situated in one of the loveliest Seattle, WA neighborhoods -- Queen Anne. Recently remodeled with the intention of bringing the outdoors in, our home boasts a lovely living room area with fireplace; a dining room made spacious by French doors that open onto a beautiful garden featuring a hot tub and barbeque; a well proportioned and equipped kitchen; and an elegant, bright but private master bedroom. All modern appliances and two large, flat-screened TVs, with cable, are included. The style of the home might be called NW casual. Eat from the garden in season.
Queen Anne is a five minute car ride to downtown Seattle. It's a fantastic place for bike rides -- in the hilly neighborhood, or to others close by, such as the Ballard Locks and gardens; the zoo; public swimming pools; restaurants and coffee shops and great, small book stores. We are on major bus lines, but if walking is your deal, this is your neighborhood. Farmers' Markets, proximity to water -- lakes and Elliott Bay; magnificent weather; quick nature fixes a car ride away make Seattle a summer vacation destination, and Queen Anne the perfect home base. Car is included in our exchange.
We are a professional gay (lady) couple -- one of us a writer-gardener; the other, a mental health professional -- seeking, this year, vacation lodging on Maui from August 30 to September 4, 2009. We are also interested in travel to Italy and Montreal, CA in future. We enjoy strenuous activities -- biking, hiking, swimming -- as well as good food, and beautiful surroundings.
