Have your own private suite in this stunning four floor Cape Town house on the slopes of Lion's Head with fabulous views to Bantry Bay below and out to Robben Island. The guest suite covers the entire first floor of the house and contains a large lounge with bar area and flat screen plasma TV; a double bedroom and shower room. The lounge opens on to a terrace and small tropical garden with fish pond. The suite is decorated in Art Deco style with some original Deco pieces in tones of black, white and silver. The suite is completely private and is accessed by the in-house lift.
Cape Town is a well known destination for European winter visitors as the months from November through to April are wonderfully hot and sunny and virtually rain and humidity free. With a very favourable exchange rate, eating out and shopping are cheap by European standards. (Example: a beer in a bar costs less than a pound!!) The house is a ten minute drive to the city centre and gay district and also a ten minute drive to the famous Camps Bay which has a beautiful white sandy beach and many excellant restaurants. The Wine Lands are a 45 minute drive away, and the delightful Garden Route on the Indian Ocean is less than four hours away. Unfortunately, public transport is poor, so it is essential for visitors to hire a car.
We are two British gay guys in a long term relationship based in London, but spend the European winter in our Cape Town home. Hal has recently retired from a career as a biology teacher and assistant headteacher. John, who is considering early retirement, is an accountant for a large international insurance company, and his job involves extensive travel around the world. We both enjoy the arts, especially theatre, ballet, museums, exhibitions, etc.; and love travelling. At our stage in life, we would consider ourselves 'non-scene', but do occasionally go to a bar or club. We enjoy meeting people, do a lot of entertaining at home and very much appreciate good food and wine!!
We are looking for paying guests or hospitality exchange while we are in residence in Cape Town. We would like hospitality exchange in these locations: Central and South America, the Far East and Maldives and Southern Europe, especially Italy.
