Apartment panoramic view in the heart of Quebec city
Nearest gay scene is 5-10 min. walk
Quebec City, Quebec, Canada
Apartment sleeps 4, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom
The apartment is on the second floor of a century-old house located in the heart of Quebec city.
Newly renovated. It offers a fully equiped American-style kitchen, a dining area, a living room, one bedroom (double), and a boudoir that can serve as a second bedroom (double sofa bed). Well oriented (East/West), it is very luminous and offers stunning views of the city and surrouding mountains.
Front balcony and backyard terrace offer a green and confortable chilling zone at any time of the day or night.
I have a cat but if you're not a cat fan, friends of mine would be more than happy to care about it during your stay.
The house is at a 15 minutes walking distance from the Old city and the main touristic attractions.
Besides the traditional Old Quebec visit, summer time offers various cultural activities such as a free Cirque du Soleil outdoor performance and the "moulin à image", the largest outside projection in the world, from Robert Lepage. Both are a 20 minutes walk from the appartment. It is also conveniently close (5 to 10 min. walk) from rue St-Jean, rue Cartier and rue St-Joseph, three buzzling areas of the city with restaurants, cafés, shops, grocery stores, etc. French-inspired Quebec cuisine is on the menu of many restaurants for a very reasonnable price! Not speaking about wine and local specialties.
For outdoor fans, hiking in the Jacques-Cartier national park and Charlevoix is only a 40 minutes ride. Whales cruises on the St-Lawrence river also offer a marvelous excursion outside the city (summer only). A few nordic spas offer excellent relaxation options in the countryside or even still on the edge of the city. And of course, Indian summer in Fall is just undescribable.
I am a 30+ young single woman, often traveling around the world, for both private and professional purpose. I am also a swing dancer and I travel frequently to the US to attend swing dance events. Born in Europe, with many gay and gay-friendly friends all over the world, I have been living in Quebec city for almost 7 years now. I fell in love with that apartment 2 years ago. Since then, strangers from Switzerland, Australia, Belgium, Montreal, Toronto and France have had the chance to enjoy it too, as I have offered it for exchange when I was away. I love living the local way and discovering hidden places when I travel, feeling the heart beat of places I visit. This is also the way I would like people to experience Quebec city, beyond its post-card image, it has a whole exciting cultural world to offer!
Right now, I am looking for an exchange in New York (24-28 August 2011) and Australia (Dec. 2011 - Jan. 2012). But my interest for travel is wide and home exchange does not need to be simultaneous. I am usually gone from a weekend to a month.
