Notting Hill Gate, London, England, United Kingdom
Apartment sleeps 2, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom
My apartment in London's fashionable Notting Hill is very light and bright. On the fourth floor (with lift) in a 1960's purpose-built block.Hallway leading to sitting room with large picture windows and door to balcony overlooking the trees and rooftops of Notting Hill and beyond. Wood flooring throughout. The sitting room has sofa-bed, armchair, decorative shelving with flat screen TV with built in DVD player, and dining table seating two. The kitchen is very well fitted with good storage space, granite work surfaces, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, hob (stove top), microwave and fridge. The bedroom is very light and bright and a good size also with a large picture window, queensize double bed, closet space and a small desk. The bathroom has bath with shower over tub, wash hand basin and loo. The flat is newly furnished in a clean and contemporary/traditional style and fully equipped.
Notting Hill is a cosmopolitan district known around the world for the annual Notting Hill Carnival, colourful Portobello Market and 1999 film with Hugh Grant, Notting Hill. A bubbling, vital artistic paradise stretching from Kensington Gardens on one end to Chelsea and Holland Park. Fashionable and posh area with attractive white Victorian townhouses, terraces, and top-notch shopping. It's one of the London's most desirable areas. It's a safe and quiet neighbourhood with a strong community of young families and successful professionals.
There are four tube stations in the area: Westbourne Park, Ladbroke Grove, Latimer Road and Notting Hill Gate. Direct bus-routes go to Oxford Street, Picadilly, Sloane Square, Victoria, Westminster Abbey and Hampstead. It is walking distance from beautiful Kensington Gardens, touristic Bayswater, shoppers paradise High Street Kensington and even more lavish area Holland Park.
In Notting Hill shopping is absolutely stellar. The area is very diverse; one hand you can find plenty of grand restaurants and lounges but there are also quite a few cheap pubs and takeaways. You can spend £4000 on a designer coat, then a few doors down find a second-hand boutique where everything is £5.
We are a professional couple, wanting to spend two/three months in Australia, based in Sydney (preferably Paddington/Darlinghurst/other central Area) for the period 15 December 2010 through March 2011. Flexible with dates.
We also have a one bedroom apartment in the Marais in Paris which is also available.
