Our apartment is situated in a quiet mews in a pleasant area of north London, between Camden Town and Hampstead Heath, both of which are within easy walking distance. There is very easy access to public transport with two underground stations (Tufnell Park and Kentish Town) each within a five minute walk of the flat. By Underground there are only four or five stations to the shops, theatres, museums and other attractions of central London. There is also a 24 hour bus route direct to Oxford Street / Soho from across the road.
The apartment itself is a cosy but well distributed space with a dining / living area, separate kitchen with all appliances, double bedroom and bathroom with shower / bath.
Our neighbourhood is very green, with trees lining the streets and expansive parks such as Hampstead Heath just around the corner. From here it is possible to get a great view of central London and to spend time walking, cycling and swimming. Hampstead, with its charming cafés and fine architecture is also within easy reach. The apartment is close to a wide range of good restaurants and both traditional and contemporary English pubs. All in all, this is a great base from where you can discover the best of which London has to offer.
Soho, with its lively gay bars, clubs and cafés is easily reached by direct Underground line (5 stops to Tottenham Court Road station) or by bus 134, also direct to Tottenham Court Road / Soho. Buses run 24 hours a day.
We are looking for an exchange of around one month (August) for summer 2010 but are also looking for exchanges for Christmas and New Year 2010 / 2011 and a three week exchange around Easter 2011. Also weekend exchanges.
As far as destinations go, we are open to all offers but are particularly keen to visit Scandinavia and Finland. Other top choices are Québec / Montréal, Japan, Italy, France, Catalunya, Munich, Lisbon. We are really open to any suggestions, so don't hesitate to get in touch!
