54 square metres, 3rd-floor apartment with lift. No noise from the street as it faces the interior of the block. A small balcony (1m x 5m) with plants gives you excellent light yet total privacy. Two large French windows lead into the 2 main rooms, offering lots of sunlight in afternoons. 1 x double bed + 2 x double sofa-futons. Dining room, kitchen and entrance hall behind. Small bathroom off the kitchen. Shower only. Gas stove. Washing machine. No dishwasher or dryer. No air-con, but good air circulation means it stays cool in summer.
10min. walk to the city centre & gay zone (Sepúlveda & "gay-xample"). Metro stop 10 metres from door. Airport bus 1 metro stop away, main train station 3 stops away, all on same line. 5 min. walk up to Montjuïc mountain, 10 min walk down to port (ferries to Balearic Is). C/ Blai, around the corner, offers loads of pleasant cafes with good food - youngish, alternative crowd & many ethnicities though the area is traditionally working class. Fabulous museums & architecture in BCN! Divine tapas! 2 great gay beaches. Sitges gay resort 20min. by train. Skiing in winter 2 hours by train/cog-train.
A New Zealander who has lived in Barcelona around 20 years. An ex-actor, I work as a translator and writer. Interests: literature, swimming. I want to stay in French, Italian or Portuguese-speaking areas to improve my languages. My main requirement is reliable broadband access in the place where I'm staying. Otherwise, I'm fairly adaptable. Happy to show people around Barcelona while they're here. I can offer hospitality for max. 3 days at a time.
