Large Sunny 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom apartment (newly renovated) set in the Centro Storico of Orvieto, a medieval Italian hill town 55 minutes from Rome by train (generally every hour) and 1:20 to Florence. Trains are accessible from town via the funicular which takes you directly down to the station.
The apartment is a duplex on the 2nd and 3rd floor (no elevator) with 9 skylights and views over town and the Umbrian hills.
Orvieto is one of the most beautiful of the ancient Italian hill towns with many museums, theater, art galleries, dining options and one of the finest Duomos in Italy. Additionally, it is a strategic base from which to explore the many charms of Umbria (Spoleto, Assisi, Perugia, Todi) and Southern Tuscany (Pienza, Montepulciano, Cortona, Arezzo, Siena). And of course easy access to Rome and Florence.
My partner and I have been together for 30 years and relocated from New York City to Orvieto. Here there is enough of an urban setting. When we want the bright lights/big city etc our options are many and reasonably near by train or car or plane when the travel bug bites. Our time is our own so we can come and go as we please and are always interested in exploring new places.
