Toronto 1915 rowhouse

City, Central

Nearest gay scene is Church St. 25 min. walk

Riverdale; 25 min walk to Gay Village, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

House sleeps 5, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom

Near-century rowhouse in beautiful Riverdale. Two rooms with double beds available (one large room and other smaller; window A/C in summer) and one bedroom with single bed. There is one bathroom. Full kitchen, dining room, parlour and media room on the main floor. Full washer & dryer facilities in the basement. BBQ in the backyard, as well as seating for relaxation. Hopefully by summer some herbs will be growing should you like to cook with them. Gerry is our friendly, loving grey tabby cat (he does not go into the 2 guest bedrooms).

Intersection of a few neighbourhoods here: We're in Riverdale, borders to Leslieville (to south); beside Chinatown East, 15 min walk north to Greektown, cross the bridge west to Cabbagetown and 15 min further on to the Village on Church St, and a few minutes more to the centre of city Yonge & Bloor. [These are walking times so even quicker on TTC streetcar (at intersection of 3 separate streetcar lines); I have one bike with basket space for a nice picnic]. TTC or bike can take you to AGO, ROM, Gardiner Museum or other galleries within 30 min.
20 min to the ferry to the Toronto Islands (Hanlan's Point for the nude beach). Day trips: Take a bus to see the famous Niagara Falls (approx. 1-1/2hr away), see the Shaw Festival at Niagara-on-the-Lake, or use this as a base and take a few days away and visit fantastic museums in Ottawa or romantic Montreal (approx. 4-5 hours by bus or train).

Availability in spare rooms (1: sleeps one; 2nd: sleeps two) so I can host even if I cannot similtaneously swap.

Trish first contacted me. We've now done a couple of exchanges. She and Adriana stayed at my home in Ottawa over the long Victoria weekend last year. I've stayed with them a couple of times now and they always provide a warm and friendly welcome to their comfortable and cozy home. You'll soon become friends with Trish and Adriana. Their home is in the heart of one of Toronto's most fascinating and historical neighbourhoods---well worth exploring. Streetcars to the downtown core and to the subway are just steps away. The view of Toronto's distinctive skyline from their backyard is spectacular! If you've arranged a stay with Trish and Adriana, you're in for a treat.
