Large terrace in a quiet street located in Paddington, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. The house has a large combined living room and dining room which looks out into a garden courtyard with a large BBQ (a must in an Australian summer).

The “exchange package” includes two holiday properties. The first is a house near the beach 1 hour of Sydney. It is a three bedroom modern house fully kitted out for weekends away.

The second is a 2,000 hectare sheep farm 4 hour easy drive from Sydney on the Murrumbidgee River. The river is great to swim in. Located 15 minutes from a typical Australian country town. Enjoy the sense of open space and big blue skies for which Australia is famous.

The Sydney house includes a lovely quiet German shepherd. He is walked twice a day by professional dog walker. There is also a roster of people who will look after him if you want to travel without him.

Sydney is at its best in summer. The beach is 15 minutes away in one direction and the city 10 minutes in the other. Sydney live out doors in summer. One of the best e vents is to go to the outdoor cinema on the edge of the harbour with the opera house as a backdrop. Centennial Park, which is a large city park, is only 5 minutes walk from my house. Paddington is one of the best boutique shopping areas in Sydney and has great coffee shops – you literally walk out the front door, down the lane and you are there. New Year’s eve is Sydney is roof top parties looking at the world’s best fireworks display over the harbour.

I am a lawyer. I will be on sabbatical in December and I am looking to spend a month in NYC, including Christmas and New Year. My family will be visiting for Christmas and New Year and I am looking for a three bedroom apartment for that period (and preferably the whole month from 3 December or so).
