We live in a 70 square metre apartment located in the heart of Paris (in Les Halles, between Le Louvre, Palais Royal and Place des Victoires), on the second floor of an ancient building in the rue du Bouloi, a very quiet (the quiet side of Les Halles) and old neighborhood of Paris. The apartment has a very convenient kitchen, a large living-room with a sofa-bed on which a third (or even a fourth person) can sleep, a bathroom (with a large shower), a bedroom (with a comfortable bed for two), one study (with lots of books about French history or theory of literature and cinema), a dressing room, and a separate room with washing and drying machines. The apartment has large windows and lots of light. It was totally refurbished 3 years ago. A cleaning lady comes once a week and will do so during the exchange (we’ll pay for it).
The rue du Bouloi is close to les Halles (precisely to Bourse du Commerce) and Palais Royal. We live within walking distance of the Beaubourg Museum, the Louvre Museum, Palais Royal, Châtelet and Montorgueil (where many fancy food-shops and restaurants can be found). The area is safe because it’s always busy. Last but not least, we are a short walk away from the Paris gay area, Le Marais, which is next to Beaubourg – just for information, we are surrounded by gay sex clubs or saunas.
